The Air Changed. You Felt It First.

The Air Changed. You Felt It First.

There's a version of this season that belongs to everyone — the sweaters, the lattes, the leaves changing color. That version is fine, but yours started earlier and runs deeper. The leaves turning. The air with that crispness that showed up one morning without warning. Fog in the low spots at dusk. Dark by six, then five-thirty, then sooner than that.

The costume is almost ready. Your decoration upgrades already purchased months ago, perhaps right after last Halloween. And the horror films you return to every fall are waiting to be watched in a particular order, with that special one saved for last—Halloween night!

The rest of the world will pretend to care. They'll put up the decorations and stream whatever horror film everyone's talking about and call it Halloween.

But you never left the season.

That's just how it works for people like us.

The season is starting. Dress like it.
